Kino KIKA is organising a November series of film meetings, ‘Herbatka z samowara’, designed for seniors and film lovers alike. Each screening takes place on a Friday at 11:00 am.
After each screening, film scholar Natalia Stefańska discusses the film and invites viewers to take part in a discussion and exchange their thoughts. The meetings are accompanied by a light refreshment. The format aims to create an intimate atmosphere and an opportunity for conversation and social connection.
The November programme features four films:
- 6 November, 11:00 am – ‘Obcy’: a new adaptation of Albert Camus’s novel about Meursault, a young clerk whose quiet life is upended by a tragic event on a beach.
- 13 November, 11:00 am – ‘Nasza rewolucja’: the story of Jacek and Grażyna Kuroń, who devoted their lives to the fight for freedom. Their flat becomes a meeting place for the opposition, and their political commitment also affects their family life and relationships.
- 20 November, 11:00 am – ‘Camino dla opornych’: a French comedy inspired by a true story. Fréd, a suspended teacher, and Adam, a rebellious 17-year-old, set out together on a walking pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, which becomes an opportunity for them to get to know themselves and build an unexpected bond.
- 27 November, 11:00 am – ‘Najlepsza owsianka na świecie’: a documentary about the Scottish village of Carrbridge, where the world porridge-making championship is held every year. The film portrays the local tradition, the community and the competition’s participants.
All screenings take place at Kino KIKA.
