Teatr Nowy Proxima invites you to the fifth meeting in the ‘Człowiek (z) kultury’ series. On Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at 18:00, at Pałac Nieśmiertelności (ul. Krakowska 13), Hanna Wróblewska, art historian, curator and former Minister of Culture and National Heritage, will meet the audience.

The ‘Człowiek (z) kultury’ series is a set of conversations with artists and managers whose professional and artistic paths are connected with Kraków and Polish art. The parentheses in the series title refer both to being rooted in the world of culture and to the relationship with the city. The project is part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Andrzej Wajda and seeks, in contemporary terms, narrative references inspired by the works of the Kraków director.

During the meeting, a conversation is planned about managing the most important national exhibition institutions and the challenges of introducing contemporary art into historic walls. Also to be addressed are: the evolution of the role of art institutions, relations between culture and the ministry, and the guest’s experiences of working within the government and political apparatus.

Hanna Wróblewska is the author, among other projects, of the acclaimed exhibition ‘Łaźnia męska’ by Katarzyna Kozyra at the 48th Venice Biennale. For over three decades she was associated with Zachęta Narodowa Galeria Sztuki, where she served as director. Earlier she was deputy director of the Muzeum Getta Warszawskiego and director of the National Cultural Institutions department at MKiDN. In 2024–2025 she served as Minister of Culture and National Heritage. She currently serves as Plenipotentiary for Contemporary Art at the Zamek Królewski na Wawelu and is actively involved with ICOM Polska.

The meeting will be moderated by Tomasz Pytko, a sociologist, culture manager and social activist.
