A mini shadow-theatre performance for the youngest audiences. The show raises questions such as: can you grow up to the ceiling, can you play the tambourine with a shadow, and how do you make a shadow dinosaur? The actors experiment in the shadow theatre’s ‘laboratory’, exploring light, shadow and their own bodies.
The performance features games of hide-and-seek, growing ‘like bread dough rising’, casting shadows, and playing the nose and the tambourine. The set consists of mazes, little animals and tunnels, and the whole production has the feel of a shadow playground, with suggestions for shared play for children and accompanying adults.
Running time: 30 minutes, followed by a playful activity session.
Age: the show is designed for children aged 2 to 5; the organiser acknowledges that adults may also enjoy it.
