The production “Widma atelier. Etiuda romantyczna”, performed by Teatr Mumerus, will be staged at the Teatr KTO stage on two dates: 26 November 2026 at 20:00 and 27 November 2026 at 19:00.
The performance is set in a painter’s studio, a place governed by its own rules. According to the description, washing the windows in the studio is forbidden, as excessively strong light passing through the glass may distort faces and undermine reality. The space is inhabited by professional models and ham actors, who feel entirely at home there. Sounds set the rhythm of time here, and the music of the National Composer, played on a dilapidated piano, becomes a kind of prison for the actors. In the corners of the studio a spectre appears, singing a familiar melody, while props act as carriers of memory, leading to personal recollections or to poses invented as part of an acting exercise.
The script, direction and set design are by Wiesław Hołdys. The cast includes Le Furia Gigier, Jan Mancewicz, Jacek Milczanowski and Bartłomiej Zdeb. The music is performed by Michał Braszak and Alicja Margolin. The costumes were prepared by Monika Gigier, and the assistant director, also responsible for props, is Agnieszka Dziedzic.
Tickets cost 60 zł and are available at the theatre box office and online. The project was realised with financial support from the Województwo Małopolskie (Lesser Poland Voivodeship).
