The concert „Myśląc Ojczyzna” will take place on 11 November 2026 at 18:00 at the Kraków Philharmonic. It is intended as a poetic and musical reflection on Polishness, national identity and the value of freedom. The event is organised by the Jan Paweł II Institute for Intercultural Dialogue and is linked to the celebrations of Poland’s National Independence Day (Narodowe Święto Niepodległości). Its aim is to mark the 108th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence.
The programme draws on the teachings of St John Paul II and explores Polishness in its many forms, as well as gratitude for the freedom for which generations of Poles have worked. The audience will hear well-known patriotic songs alongside popular pieces by contemporary composers.
Performers and presenters:
- Izabela Szafrańska and Mateusz Ziółko, accompanied by the Orkiestra Dęta OSP w Żurowej under the direction of Paweł Hołda
- Piotr Krasnowolski, who will host the evening and take care of the recitations
