This painting exhibition, „fragmenty 1974/2026”, is the thirteenth instalment of the „Przestrzeń dla sztuki” cycle. It presents the work of Prof. Adam Brincken, a painter, draughtsman, curator and designer who also works in stained glass, monumental painting in sacred spaces, and, on occasion, stage design, exhibition design and art education.
The exhibition spans three galleries and explores different areas of the artist’s work, which is known for its ongoing search for form. In his object-paintings, Brincken combines a sculptor’s way of thinking with a painter’s imagination, seeking connections between matter and metaphysics.
The „Przestrzeń dla sztuki” cycle documents and showcases the achievements of outstanding artists and teachers associated with the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, who, alongside their artistic accomplishments, were committed to social affairs and to educating future generations of artists. To date, twelve editions have been dedicated to: Paulin Wojtyna, Janina Kraupe, Janusz Tarabula, Stefan Gierowski, Leszek Misiak, Franciszek Bunsch, Ryszard Otręba, Teresa Kotkowska-Rzepecka, Jacek Waltoś, Krystyna and Jerzy Nowakowski, Krystyna Zachwatowicz and Lilla Kulka.
The initiator of the cycle is Prof. Dr Hab. Jerzy Hausner, founder of the Open Eyes Art Festival, within which the cycle runs. The organisers are Fundacja Gospodarski i Administracji Publicznej, Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. The exhibitions are produced by Agencja Artystyczna GAP. The curator of the exhibition is Prof. Anna Król.
The private view will take place on Friday, 6 November 2026, at 5:17 pm. The exhibition at the Biała Galeria CENTRUM in the Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury is open from 5 to 29 November 2026, and admission is free. For more information, call 12 644 02 66, extension 25, or email GALERIA@NCK.KRAKOW.PL.
